Graduation with friends

Estuardo Lopez

Developer, mentor, athlete, and friend

While I love building software, my life outside of tech shapes how I collaborate and create. My experiences in athletics, teaching, and community have taught me valuable lessons about resilience, creativity, and human connection that I bring to every project.

Family

Christmas Celebrations

Family means everything to me. It keeps me grounded and gives me perspective. From holiday traditions to life's big milestones, these relationships remind me what truly matters. The values they've instilled in me, like honesty, compassion, and perseverance, shape how I show up in both life and work.

Martial Arts

HS Wrestling Team

Wrestling shaped who I am today. As Varsity Captain in HS, I gained discipline, mental toughness, and leadership experience. The sport taught me to push through setbacks and support others when they needed it.

Today, I stay active through boxing and CMU's Grappling Club, both learning and teaching. The resilience and respect at the heart of combat sports carry into everything I do, from coding to collaboration.

Teaching & Outreach

Teaching students at Generation Code
Generation Code

Teaching high school students through Gcode at PFLL was one of my most rewarding experiences. I helped design a curriculum in tech and computer science, guided student teams through their first coding projects, and saw their confidence grow with every milestone.

Tech Escape Room for PFLL
Tech Escape Room

I volunteered to help design and run a Tech Escape Room for high school students, crafting puzzles that encouraged teamwork, critical thinking, and creativity. It was a fun and interactive way to introduce tech concepts outside the traditional classroom.

Recreation

Kayaking with family
Summer Kayaking

Whether hiking mountain trails, kayaking with friends, or playing pickup games in the park, these outdoor activities help me maintain balance and perspective. Time in nature refreshes my creativity and clears my mind, qualities that enhance both my personal life and approach to technical problem solving.

My Pack

Three of a Kind

At home, I'm proudly a dog person. Our three dogs fill the house with joy, energy, and just the right amount of chaos. From training sessions and long walks to quiet moments when they all pile onto their bed, they bring warmth and balance to our days. They've taught me patience, empathy, and how to appreciate the little things.
